COVID 19 - VALUATION PROCEDURES

If you wish to organise a valuation on your property then please read the following:

Due to the current coronavirus pandemic and social distancing rules our visit will follow a somewhat different pattern than you may have previously experienced. We have been working hard to establish safe procedures that will protect yourselves as owners and ourselves as Agents and we trust you will appreciate the reasons behind our new valuation policy. The principal features are as follows:-

*Please ensure that all doors within the property are opened prior to our inspection including any cupboard doors which conceal the central heating boiler, hot water cylinder etc.

*Please keep the number of people in the property to the bare minimum as we cannot achieve social distancing if rooms are occupied by family members, children playing etc.

*It is our intention to keep the inspection period as short as practically possible to minimise the risk to all involved. Our representative may well be wearing a face covering which creates communication difficulties and the normal procedure of inspecting the house and then spending up to an hour discussing value, market activity , our service package etc would be challenging to undertake. In light of this we propose to leave the property after inspecting it and to then contact you by phone for a detailed discussion of these important matters and then follow this up with a letter or email confirming our advice.

*IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT THAT YOU ADVISE US AHEAD OF OUR SCHEDULED VALUATION APPOINTMENT IF ANY MEMBER OF YOUR HOUSEHOLD OR OCCUPANT OF THE PROPERTY DISPLAYS ANY COVID-19 SYMPTOMS. IF THIS IS THE CASE, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE APPOINTMENT.

As Agents we acknowledge that the property market is being allowed by the Government to restart at a time when Covid-19 is still active without any current vaccine or cure. Social visits to other households and properties are still not allowed for the general public (including those owned and occupied by family members) and we therefore take the matter of entry into your home very seriously indeed. Traditionally our visits often include a long wide ranging chat sat on the sofa with a nice cup of tea but at the moment the two way threat of infection is such that we will need to remain a little more distant. Please do not think of us as unfriendly – we are trying, in these unusual and challenging times, to ensure the safety of all concerned.
